ok guys i know this is an oxy-moron but im looking for a quiet performance muffler or something thats not loud like a flowmaster 80.

Dynmoax ultraflo is pretty nice, and the super turbo's are even quieter.

I'm going to be going to 2.5" full exhaust soon, and plan to use an ultraflo. Hopefully with 2.5" and a high flow cat it will sound a little louder than right now (stock exhaust cat and 2" ultralfo) but not too loud to attract too much attention.

Make sure you have at least 6-7" of tail pipe after the muffler before the tips, and not just tips right on the muffler. Or it will have a loud deep sound at cruise and drone some.

i was looking for a crossflow aka camaro style muffler. with this style ive always had at least 4or5 inches of pipe on either side of a 90* bend.

ive heard the magnaflows are quiet cruising until the car comes alive, but id really want to hear it on a 3400 equipped car.

ive got 2 1/2 from the manifold back with a high flow cat and nothing else on the pipe except for the muffler.

i need a somewhat quiet at idle and somewhat quiet at cruise but not totally rape my performance.

im going to put a cutout on it for track use but i still want it to perform ok with a muffler.

whats on there now they wont even touch it, its like my car has a nasty case of herpes or something.

Not sure on the magnaflows. They are same style as Ultraflo's but I've heard they are louder.

The Stainless ultraflo is quieter I think than the welded version.

The ultralfo setup on mine (stainless btw) right now is quiet until you go WOT, even then it's not that loud but cruising it's quiet. No drone. I'm sure they make it in camaro style.

for the time being i ordered a basic run of the mill muffler from napa, its only 40 bucks so if it lasts the next month ill be happy.

over the winter ill build up a better back half of the exhaust.

well i know 1 person who have the borla cat back with headers and his exhaust was pretty quiet at idle and driving and the other girl i know with borla catback is pretty quiet so that got me thinking.

          about using this muffler
Borla Stainless Pro XS Muffler - Camaro Firebird 40477
its like 155 shipped on ebay. summit has it for 270 and borla lists it for 300. no way im paying north of the 155.

also are there any glass-packs in the neighborhood of like say 12inches or anything smaller than the 2 footers you can buy.

I think I have seen glass packs in the neighborhood of a foot to 15" area. The were mostly used to help get the raspyness out of 60v6 exhaust.
