  • Brett Favre saga

Is it just me or is anyone else sick of this whole thing? Yes, I live in Wisconsin which means every news station every night has to report on it. I am not a Green Bay Packers fan either. I have to admit, I really despise the Packers and Brett Favre. I find it just hilarious that everyone around here is all depressed about the situation.

    Anyone else have any thoughts?

I just don't understand why a man that appeared to be happy with retirement, now wants more. He already has a super bowl ring, numerous NFL records, huge fan base, $12 million (this year alone) and an assured first year eligible selection into Canton. There are many ex-NFL players that can only dream of that kind of retirement.

(come to kc brett) Subliminal message

I've been a Favre fan from the beginning....(in Green Bay). I have over 450 different cards, including every rookie, all BGS 10 graded.

Anyway, he can come to KC, and throw for the Chiefs anytime. He can still throw a pass that breaks fingers, and you can hang clothes from! The guy commands respect and can do what he wants.

If you can put the drama aside, he is still the 6th best rated QB in football, (and that can be argued). Kinda gives a little room to haggle a bit. And with all the accomplishments, he can be a little wishy-washy if he wants. Did anyone ever see him as a Packer for life? Or play back-up? Get real....money talks.

And Brett Favre walks! As did Joe Montana.

Oh, and Green Bay?,...have a good start at 1-6....... Just looked at the schedule. May be able to beat Detroit.

Actually, I'm a Detroit fan! Always have been, always will be.

I used to have a little respect for Favre. All that is gone now. Sure, Green Bay has jerked him around in the past few weeks, but he jerked them around for a few months now. He retired and the team had to move on. Then he waffled before the draft and finally told them that he was going to stay retired. They moved on and now he wants to play again. I don't blame him for wanting to play still, but what I can't stand is why everyone thinks the Packers owe him anything or he owes the Packers anything. Football may have been his life, but it's still a business and it's still a job.

Exactly. It's not about Green Bay.

It is all about money. You can do that when you have a talent.

Brett owes the Packers nothing. He could have stayed in Atlanta. Then we would be talking about the Falcons. He just ended up in Green Bay! Packers owe Brett respect, admiration, and countless plays that blow you away. (and a ring).

Packers dynasty died in 1968. Brett revived it. Not because he wanted to play in Green Bay, just because they took a chance, and he did his best. Pretty damn good if you ask me! He was welcomed! And they will not like this season.

Not sure at this moment, but it looks like he is headed south. Tampa Bay may be contenders if HE so chooses.

If I sell tires at Firestone, and they decide to move on, and I'm REALLY good at selling tires, dude, I go to Goodyear. They wanna pay for play.

How many dynasties get better after the star leaves? How many? Bulls? 0, 49'ers? 0, Cowboys? 0. And if they do, it takes forever. Steelers win 1.

Green Bay screwed up, another team will profit,(as does Favre), and don't be surprised to see Brett,....star again.

Derek Jeter would go to the Rays for money. LeBron James would be in Europe, for money. So would you.

I will put the Packers at 0-7. Yeah, I think Detroit can beat Aaron Rogers. Especially with the hype Brett can produce, no matter where he is.

#4 is scary. And very good for sports radio!

It's alittle hard to say that it was all Farve that got that superbowl ring. As I remember it, there was really a trio of people that made it happen.

Remember a couple years ago when Farve tried to carry the team. Remember the TD - INT record as a result. Yeah we all know just how well Farve plays when he feels he is the team.

In the past few years, Farve's best chance of getting back to the superbowl is with Green Bay. Like it or not, it's true. It's to late in the season to jump to another team and plug into a different offensive scheme and expect to succeed. Now will the Jets be a better team with Farve, Yes. But will they make the playoffs, No.

I just laugh now that he's going to become a Jet. 17 years playing with Green Bay and now he has to learn a new offense with an AFC team.... I hope he sits back and ponders how he went from an all-time great quarterback to trade bait for maybe at best a 2nd round draft pick.

When you're a Brett, you're a Jett all the way....

                  The Jetts..never saw that coming.

However, it is still about the money. Brett gets paid. Jetts have a star that can sell seats, caps, jerseys, hot dogs and beer! I'll bet Chad Pennington can't pull that off. Oh,..he was released.....nevermind.

Maybe win a couple more games than last season for the Jetts. Who cares? The Jetts can compete in NY for the profit challenge finally. Really. You have the Metts, (oops, I'm hooked), the Giantism, Yankoffs. And a lot of money.

Who wins? Brett and the Jetts. Kinda fits. (change the name)

Oh, and at the very least,...Brett gets to throw to another jersey in green. Less likely to have a pick.

                  God, I love football.

The hype is big.. so is the money. go here..

And the Jetts never play the Packers/-Brett....go figure. (come to kc) ((Subliminal message))... Jetts? Playoff contender? doubt it. But it makes you wonder, and watch.

John Madden is happy and sad.

Have a great NFL season. Time to put up the tree! And if you are a Jetts fan...............well.
