  • what's a Nissan "Skyline" looks like a 350z???

I raced one SUnday and beat him bad... twice! It looks kind of like a 350z, but maybe more like the G35 coupe, it was a black car and the body lines are kind of hard to rememebr exactly, but it said "SKYLINE" in red in the middle of the rearend b/t the taillights and "GT35R" where the 350z and G35 have their stock badges.

I walked this guy from 70-110 two times, simply pulled away from him. He was pissed the first time and came back up asked for more, then I walked him the second time and exited without getting his reaction. This was in my turbo Grand Am, 2.0 4cyl, 5-speed 3.94-geared 282, in 4th gear both times from 4000-6500rpm. It was not even a contest.

If it's the Twin Turbo Jap-spec car, that's totally awesome! I am making over 450hp, btw. 375 at the wheels.

If it's a true skyline then the driver would have been sitting on the right-side of the car since it was never sold outside of Japan. A lot of them get imported though and there are several in my area. I see a silver one everyday on my way to work.

Not all Skylines are right side drive. There were a lot of them that were imported into the US and converted to left hand drive.

Awesome kill though...you know that guy was upset when his Skyline got beaten by a GrandAm...lol

it was probably a 350Z or a G35 coupe. The skyline with the body style you are talking about is not in the US yet. It's coming soon, it is called the GTR http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_GT-R...I doubt you will walked that.

If it was a Z or G they make around 250 to the wheels and run in the 13's stock.

What does your car run in the 1/4 mile?

The GTR has no "Skyline" badges on it.
And the GTR is in the US as of a few months ago BTW, how bout we wait to see if pontiacjeff responds to what side the driver was on??

Sounds to me like someone put Skyline badges on a G35 perhaps. They were sold as the Skyline in Japan.

But, I also was under the impression we had a few of the new GTRs over here already. You would definitely know one if you saw the ugly bastard... G35s are much sexier.

            14.60 @ 96.33 for now...

Are they for sale yet? My friend works at a nissan dealership and he has a down payment/order for one...he is not due to get his for a few more months. But regardless the point I am trying to make is that the car in question was probably not a skyline/GT-R since the new GT-R does not have a skyline badge and its the only one that could be said to resemble a Z or G.

I am convinced no it was a G35 with the greddy TT kit. I paid a little "visit" to the Nissan tuner shop here in town. The skyline badges were added. The Evo is their "shop" car... LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Oh, ya? Well, MY shop car can beat up YOUR shop car!"

                LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The EVO might give me a better run with driver-only, there were 3 passengers in the car at the time. I am only running 17psi right now, the car is set up for 21-22psi. It should make about 425 at the wheels and run some low-11's if I had a cage in the car!

Yea that's no GT-R. You're putting down some very nice hp numbers and I have no doubt your car is very quick. However , I was having a very hard time envisioning anything but YOU getting smoked in a contest against a GT-R.
