  • Monte Carlo/Lumina custom led trick

I've heard of this little trick for Luminas such as mine where you peel the black skin off the heater knobs for reavealing clear knobs underneath. Then you can switch the white l.e.d.s out for colored ones to make the knobs glow. Has anyone seen this done? I wonder if it ends up too bright and distracting.

Ouch. Just so we're clear, I'm not one of those people who thinks stickers, lights and a big ass spoiler are the way to personalize your car. I'm all about subtlety. I was just curious about this because I've never seen it. If it looks cheesy I don't want it. Thanks for your input everyone.

Here's my opinion, THe led lights are not my favorite. Instead, I like the "neon wires" they give a much softer glow, are easier to "hide" (where you just see the glow, not the wire), and can be made to flash to music.
Tuning a car is full of compromises. You must decide if you are willing to give up either reliability, performance, or a whole load of cash. Also remember that repairs will seem to come up much more often as you strive for even more performance
