  • gots a mystery module to figure out. Please help!

When I went to the yard, I got a lot of stuff, and as I was going through it all, I came across a MYSTERY MODULE. I have no idea what this is, or what it is for. Can anyone help me?

    This is the module:

The part number on it is 25609554

    According to GMPARTSDIRECT, it is:

    GM PART # 25609554
    CATEGORY: Engine Oil Level
    PACK QTY: 1
    CORE CHARGE: $0.00
    GM LIST: $87.76
    OUR PRICE: $52.02

    DESCRIPTION: MODULE

It has 7 wires, but there are provisions for 10, and the connector is similar to the CHEVY RADIO in that it has 6 wires, then a gap, the 4 wires but it is all one connector.

    thanks

Acording to a guy over on the Aurora board, it DOES have to do with the oil level.

First off it is a casco part and it is used on the first generation pass key I am almost certain.

It is the interface controller the passkey module operates. Rip it up and you will find relays in it.

Almost like a Body Control Module (BCM)

One of the guys over at the Aurora forum said it has to do with the engine oil level sensor. I asked for a wiring diagram, but have not got one yet.

The Aurora that this came out of has the same passkey II module that I have in my 1995 Cutlass Supreme. They are even wired the same.

Can you get a wiring diagram for it? When I go to my car tomorrow, I will get the wiring pinout to compare it too.

            thanks

I will call Lithia and see if a tech can tell me somtin.
The number on that case is not a GM part number.

I went over to GMPARTSDIRECT, and entered that part number and it gave me this:

I need to know for a fact what it is, and what the wiring goes too.

Lithia was empty handed didn't know and couldn't pin out for me.

The module in picture sure has alot of wires to be a oil level, most are 3 wires, some are 4 wires.

I think it has something special in there so that if the light comes on, it will stay on until you turn the key off. It might even have an ignition kill.

What I really need to do is just get a 1995 Aurora service manual. It is not listed in my 1997 book.

I just hate to get a 1995 book if I am not going to need it. So far, everthing that I have checked is the SAME, and the HVAC PROGRAMMER that was in the parts car, well, turns out that it was replaced with a 1997 unit anyways, so the wiring for that is the same. And that is one of the only things that is going to give me an issue to wire up.

I just want to be sure that the mystery module is not something I am going to need to get the cluster to even work.

Seeing that the Aurora dash is going into my Cutlass Supreme, I want to be sure that there is not going to be ANY issues. There should not be seeing that I am going to retain as much of the stock Cutlass Supreme wiring that I can, but there will be something and I just don't want it to be this.
