well, its not a 60*, but at least its still gm. the car, a 90 sunbird convertable, the motor, a 2.2l ecotec. basicly we got tired of the 2.0l turbo blowing up (had the head off 5 times in 1 year) so decided it was best to go a different route. we wanted something different with potential, and the ecotec fit the bill, although most of the drive to do it was because 99% of people in the j-body community said it couldnt be done.
it started off with cutting out the stock j-body mount brackets and welding in ecotec mount brackets. the motor is now bolted in for the final time and we are starting to wire and plumb it. as for the motor itself, its not stock by any means. in its previous car (2005 cavy, test car for level zero motorsports) it layed down 250 whp at 10psi. it now has a new set of tri-flow cams, head studs, balance shaft delete and a few other goodies. if it runs low 14s/high 13s, we will be very happy with it. with the potential of the ecotec, after next winter we are planning to be knocking on the 400hp door
