  • New From Indiana

Name is Derek, I have a 94 ex cab sonoma that I am building to run auto cross with. Currently 2.2/t5 powered. I am going to be doing a camaro 3.4 with a 3x00 top end. I just recently swapped the stock truck t5 for a t5 from a 94 camaro and am already loving it. Now I just need more power.

List of mods so far include:
zq8 s10 front and rear sway bar.
A quick ratio gearbox that I had rebuilt at Lee's power steering. (super nice people)
Tubular upper control arms built to use a full size truck ball joint (3/8" taller than stock)
    1/2" taller lower ball joint.
    Drop spindles
I spent many hours going over the math to come up with a spring. The end result ended up being that my stock 4cyl s10 springs with 3/4 of a coil cut off were the perfect rate and drop for what I wanted. Will have to redo them though once I get the 6 in there though.
In the rear I have 3" lowering leafs that I had dearched another inch to avoid using blocks. I have a disc brake posi 7 5/8 3.42 rear from an 03' blazer. And one of the best and cheapest mods that worked for me was using some of those cheap coil over dodads that go over the stock shocks.

I made my own short shifter for the camaro t5 by using and old stock s10 shifter and cut it off and welded a 3/4" tube to it. It made it sit where I wanted it and shortened the throw by over 2", it also made the shifter firmer by not having the rubber the stock shifter had. When I get the 3.4 in I will be using the camaro bell housing and will have the bend the shifter to get it to sit where Its at now though.

Wow, I have just rambled on. Thanks for reading,
    Derek

Its fun to drive even with the 4 banger, she will be more fun with more power. I would be happy with 250hp.

Need to order cab corners and replace the bed.

I hit a deer last year, luckily it was just fender, hood, core support, and grill.
