  • Valve spring shims.

I am building a GM 4 cyclinder engine and I am using the 60 degree V6 valve springs. I am trying to locate these valve spring shims , that go on the head and under the valve base. Someone told me they are off a 3.4 V6 engine or 3.4 L 60 degree V6 Click image for larger version

Not exactly waht you ask for, but.....................these are out of a 3.1 with the beehive springs, the demensions ar nearly exactly what you spec. They push on over the guides and have the seal built in on the top. I will be happy to send you this one so you can see if it would fit, I am using some LS6 springs so I needed some with a smaller ID. If you want to just grind the tops off and use the clips and seats with other valve seals I will send you all the rest, the seals are all pulled off to remove the seats. Larry

The ones you posted a pic of look like LS1 spring seats. I'll have to confirm the measurements tonight to see if they match yours though.

If those are the ones. then I can get them from the GM dealer. I need the OD , because I am using the 10166343 Behive GM V6 springs , which have a larger base diamiter . Let me know . Thanks.

I will just send all the seats, same price I think. You can just grind off the top part that holds the seal and use the stock stem seal if you want, the spring seats will work either way. I am sure they are the size you are looking for, let us know if they work. They were out of an 94 Olds cutlass supreme, 3.1. Larry

Will be looking for them and will see if they will do the job. I do not know where the ones I pictured came from . They fit great and work , but I only have 2 of them .

I would just pick up a 1/2 inch wood dowl, push the seats over the end and hold it on a grinder to take off the top part down to the little crimps that hold it to the valve guides. Use the stock stem seals and you are all set. They came off heads that use the same springs you have, so they should be perfect. Larry

These are LS1 spring shims im using on my 3500 heads with LS6 valvesprings.

The springs are off for valve guide seal replacement after I got a cheap set and three cracked ones right after running the motor shortly

Hope the pic is good reference

Can you measure the O.D. and I.D. of the LA1 springs to see if they match the specs. that I posted in the first thread. Thanks.
