So my name's Chris and yes i may not have done this swap myself and purchased it pre done but none the less i own a 2002 cavalier 2door v6 3400 sfi n/a'd

Mods List

Engine:
Intake plenum, TB, CAI Piping painted gloss black
engine bay painted flat black
various other parts painted silver
LIM upgraded to a metal gasket
Custom built CAI (2200 CAI cut up to include MAF & Sensors)
HP Tuned - fan stays on 5 min after car is turned off
Spec stage 2 clutch
2.25" exhaust w Magnaflow high flo cat, Cherry bomb glass pack Resonator, Walker high flo muffler
B&M Short Throw Shifter
urethane upper mount inserts
urethane tranny mount inserts
aftermarket lower mount with urethane inserts
upper strut bar from a convertible j-body
optima red top relocated to the trunk


Body:
Repainted from original colour to a "Dark cherry with red flake" its a blackish purple w red flake
IF side skirts
'98 z24 body swap - different rear bumper with lip kit awaiting paint and install
Technic front lip (currently sitting in 2 pieces awaiting repair due to a fail)

This car was the 2nd of 3 he ended up swapping out - one was a 97 red sunfire (has some slight gauge issues due to PCM compat problems) - then mine with all gauges running right (figured out the right PCM to use and tune with) - then he's done another Green cavalier as well with the 3400 (same setup as mine)

wow so this shows you how long its been since I last posted here.

Quick update - 3500 heads up swap done, purple car crushed last weekend, new to me 2002 indigo blue cavalier z24 fully loaded now has a nice V6 sitting in it just waiting for the final touches to be done to have it fully road worthy.

Personal update: I rolled my blazer in feb and unfortunately fractured my c5 vertebrae - LUCKILY not a displacement fracture so I've since healed the fracture itself just fine and no permanent damage but still on a long road to recovery with my shoulder and neck muscles from the bracing and such. It's why I had a few GOOD friends come down for a weekend adventure and do the majority of the work swapping the car. Also why the final touches haven't exactly been completed as of yet.

Few pics: (btw it took us approx 15 hrs to do everything in both vehicles - just the 3 of us and myself being fairly useless cuz of injuries)

Main reason I decided this was time - the rust, the previous hood had smashed the windshield and fukt the roof hard - damage all costing as much as a replacement to fix.

How it currently sits in my driveway awaiting coolant, new oil, new p/s lines, some cleaning up, and tightening down of various parts.


Last farewell to the purple beast! Signed with love as she treated me right - but NO ONE else will own her, it was mangled by the time I dropped it off at the salvage yard.

as much as it was pocket-rocket - the car had lived its life quite well and was deff showing signs of use and abuse. it would have been somewhere in the neighbourhood of like $2500 to fix it right for everything - a new shell cost me less and came with an almost impressive motor/trans combo for a cavalier. It'll be up for sale on the JCO for someone else to keep and love.
