  • New to site , have a 93 Olds Cutlass

Hey guys , well im from Ontario Canada and just got my grandpas car cause he cant drive anymore

Iv put about 15k on it in 6 months and it now sits at 311xxx. I have the 3.1 SFI and have started to tweak it a bit. This happends with every car I own and Im only 20 lol I get it thinking oh its just going to be a DD dont worry about it but befor you know it its lowerd with a CAI and exhaust

Anywho , Iv put about $3000 into the car for new parts and were worn (wheel bearings , suspension , stuff like that). I dont know if he had the LIM done but I guess he or the previous owner did since it has over 300k on it. It has the infamous "piston slap" but only when cold. It doesnt even sound like piston slap , if it is its only on one cylinder.

So far Iv upgraded to 10.3mm wires with Bosch plugs , got an Intake off Egay , looking into 2.5" cat back with a magnaflow high flow cat and thrush turbo mufflers (I want to do duel like the 3.4 DOHC cars have) Was looking into headers but I dont want to drop 500 bucks on headers alone so I might just stick with the stock manifolds.

Iv been reading a lot on the 3400 top end swap but I dont know if I want to spend the time and effort since its only my daily driver , I might just go with the lower and upper plenums and clearance the rockers to fit with the 3400 manifold. If thats even possible

So I hope to have some pics up soon so let me know what you think or if you want to laugh at me for tuning a grandpa car thats cool too!!!
