  • My 1999 Swift....it's not a Suzuki folks

So I wanted to buy something different that you don't hear about or see very often. I was looking hard at 348/F355 Challenge cars and other factory modified exotics and I ended up with something I never even THOUGHT I'd own....at anytime in my life.

Well here is what I have tucked away in my garage now.

It's a 1999 Swift 010c, 1 of 15 built (not sure how many are left). This is chassis number 004 It was originally used by Newmann Haas and then by Rocketsports. It's last duty was a promotional piece for the '07 Las Vegas GP and the never fulfilled Arizona GP. Now it's sitting in my garage waiting for major surgery to implant a VG for some reliable go power. I will post updates as they happen.

    Future Cahmpionship driver?

    Baby Onboard!

    Washing my Champ Car.

You can see our 24 Hours of LeMons entry in the background.

    It came with a trailer!

The air jacks are all there and seem to function.

    All Clean!

    Vrrroooooommm vvrrrrrooooooooooommmmmmm

    Is there a problem officer?

    Bodywork removed.

The list of To-Do's is quite large but I feel it will be well worth it in the end. The plan as of now is to run a single turbo VG with either an EMS or Zem. The biggest hurdles will be finding a clutch/fabricating a flywheel and getting a VG to rev high enough to attain a respectable top speed. The dry sump will also be a good chunk of time/$$$. The smaller jobs will be fitting shocks and brake calipers and completeing the clutch and brake pedal assemblies. A set of belts needs to be fitted (the mounts are already there) along with a seat pad.

That is too cool man. I've always wanted to drive an Indy/Champ/F1 style car. How much did an awesome little car like that run you?

I know it's not an F1 car, but damn... that's the next best thing!

I'll be the childish bastard to giggle at certified no. 0420 hehe.

Otherwise, holy shit man! You must be in the line of work that I dream about getting into with a toy list like that! What are you going to do with this thing? Race the hell out of it I hope.

              What a pick up!

Whats it run in the 1/4? haha Simply bad ass. I waited for photobucket to load them cause I never expected to see something like this on a 60V6 site. Do you have any more pictures of the engine/drivetrain itself?

From reading his post, I'm pretty sure it did not come with an engine...

No engine yet, I may throw a Nissan Z turbo engine in it for power.

I am still trying to get off my butt to get my '96 3.4 DOHC transplant in my '88 Fiero GT underway. It seems there is always something else to work on.
