Ok folks I'm back from Michigan. Took my car out for a drive for the first time since I returned. Went to Domino's pizza to pick up pizza's. When I came out to leave, car wouldn't start. &$*&$^%!!! Dam!! Well at least I wasn't hungry while I waited for bro to come tow me home. Fuel pump went out. Delphi fuel pump was 340.00 dollars!!! Couldn't find a cheaper one. This thing is a fuel pump module is what the call it. Has sending unit and a fuel resevior canister built together. That was my dyno fund.. ;(
Dyno run will have to what until next payday.

I wish it was that simple. Seems GM changed fuel pump designs in 97, to this. They added this little line to it. From what I can tell it pulsates a small pump in the bottom of res. canister. Theres also a float in the bottom of canister. If you notice there is also 2 fuel socks. One one the bottom of res. can and one on bottom of pump it self.

Sucks dude... Any way to back-convert to the "old" style tank module? Or is the lock-cover a different size and shape?

Would have to change the complete tank. theres no baffle in te bottom of this tank like the older onees.

you shouldnt have to replace the entire pickup assembly unless you broke something. the fuel pump just pops right out and you can put a walbro in it with no problems. I just got done doing it with my car b/c my pump couldnt keep up with a l67.

I don't suppose you did a before and after the timing?

Good HP numbers for having no mods. But the torque needs some help I'll admit.

Basically stock overall horsepower, less torque...

But completely flat across the band... And makes power to 7k...

Impressive. I can see this making more of a difference in a Fiero. Interesting.

                        Thanks for posting it!

It made power right up until it hit the rev limiter. Not sure of the % of loss through an automatic trans is.

You can gain back some of the lost HP from the AT by switching to Ford Fluid. Sharper shifts. I've used it for....forever. Usually my first "mod" on a GM product.

And thanx for the Dyno info. Me may go that way. If it doesn't work, I can always go back.

A.K.A you your_I.D. here........... Haven't been around in awhile. New wife and stepdaughter, took over my life. Car has been parked for a couple year's. I'm back!! Sold mycar to a 16 year old family friend. The whole 4 exh cam exp. wasn't worth the extra power increase. It moved the power banned way to high to be usefull on the street. somebody had to try it. Pulling the heads off for a V Job and putting stock cams back in it.
