Ok. So I sort of figured this out. This is a long story.

2 years ago I blew my engine/tranny. I bought a used engine/tranny for the car. I used same everything my wiring harness sensors the works. Once all together the car ran great for 5 minutes then surged then stalled (ran really rich too). I had 3 mechanics look at it. All of them at a loss. So one day goofing around I found with a slight vacuum leak the car ran mint. I drove it 2 years like this. If I removed the vacuum leak the issue came right back.

Now fast forwarding to now. Same thing. Idle is rich (black smoke) surging/stalling. So I give it a small vacuum leak. Idle is 100% better. But it is still not right. Car will still surge in D/R and after being driven say 10 min it won't start. Cranks but nothing. If I let it sit for 30 min it will start.

No ECU codes are present. My ECU is modified to have EGR,EVAP, A/C and Quad Drive A&B deleted. Car drove on this tune for 2 years.

Any help guys? I am at a total loss here. I have tried a different fuel pressure regulator, new wires, new plugs, different IACs. It's not the intake swap that is the issue.

There was something wrong with this car all along and the vacuum leak fixed/masked the issue (even passed an etest this way haha). Now with the swap it just came back full force.

I tried unplugging o2, IAC, TPS, Coolant all one at a time and no difference. again the vacuum leak did make it much better but not good enough.

I borrowed a smoke machine and there is no vacuum leaks anywhere other then the one I created.

I really hope between all the smart dudes on here I can get her back on the road or maybe time to count my losses and junk her.

FIXED!!!!! 2 leaky injectors were causing the car to run rich. The Vacuum leak was leaning it out so that it ran better. Thanks for everyones help. And now you know if a vacuum leak makes your car run better chances are your injectors are leaking.
