I'm sorry. I don't know much about turbo boost, but I would like to know why an iridium would be a good plug.
On my Lightning I use NGK TR6's because they are a cold range for the boost. A LOT of people use them.
Iridium are also NOT supposed to be gapped. You get them, pop them it, and that's it. Why would you want a plug you couldn't readjust?

my L67 ran great on iridiums. i gapped mine, too. i ran TR55IX. R45's and stock platinums ran like shit in it, so i tried a 1/2 step warmer ngx gapped to 45 and it got rid of the driveability issues i had. i know a LQ1-T is diff than an L67, but theyre both boosted.91 GTP HM-284 GONE

i too have gapped my iridiums with no issues. personally i dont like plat or iridium plugs in boost aplications... esp on high compression that we have in the LQ1.
the reason it is said not to gap Iridiums is that you could scratch the iridium tips and damage the tip... but if your careful this wont be an issue.

If you don't use a normal gapper and bend the prong with pliers then you'll be ok. Otherwise you'll break the tip coating.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

i would just try the R42LTS first and see how they do. its the stock TGP plug and the coldest you can get, in ac delco and most, anyway.91 GTP HM-284 GONE

I run R42LTS with 0.035" gap on my turbo Fiero. The plugs always look great. This is one of the coldest plugs AC Delco makes.1987 Fiero GT - 95' 3.4l DOHC LQ1, GT3071r turbo, intercooled, Haltech E6K, custom stainless headers and exhaust, Tial 38mm wastegate, 38 lb/hr MSD injectors, custom intake manifold, 12" 4-piston front brakes, 11.25" rear.

I usually run about 20k miles on a set of plugs. I only change them out because it seems like the thing to do.Last edited by Matt Hawkins; 09-21-2007, 08:18 PM.1987 Fiero GT - 95' 3.4l DOHC LQ1, GT3071r turbo, intercooled, Haltech E6K, custom stainless headers and exhaust, Tial 38mm wastegate, 38 lb/hr MSD injectors, custom intake manifold, 12" 4-piston front brakes, 11.25" rear.
