Anyone have a suggested GM donor ECU that already has the maps & such for a turbo application on the LQ1? I just picked up a 91 Z34 Lumina for the engine only. I believe TunerCat has a file for the original ECU but am thinking somthing else might be better to start with. (from scratch) The Lumina body appears perfect (red) if anyone is interested. The engine is bound for my 1st gen AWD Talon

Turbo LQ1 ECU
I'm in Lancaster PA
I came to same same conclusion, a 89~90 1227727 ECU with a turbo Grand Prix binary file. Question: I pulled the lower dash panels off the Z34 in search of the ECU and did not see anything similar to my C4 vette, what does the unit look like? (metal/plastic/size?) Could it be in the engine bay? Anyone know if this ECU code featured sequencial fuel injection?Last edited by Dennis Cronin; 03-07-2007, 07:24 AM.

under the hood, passenger side front, below the fuse and relay panel.
Its paited black.
The ECM's that might interest you for this project...
1227727:
Origionally from 88-93 W bodies with the 3.1, and 91 corvettes.
Underhood 4 connector style. Has a turbo code for the 3.1L aluminum headed engine. It does NOT support any electronic transmissions, so either you use a 1989-1990 4T60, or you go with a manual. Unless you can find a transmission controller. The code will have to be heavily tuned anyway. NO SFI available.
16149396:
Origionally from 91-93 3.4 DOHC's and 93 3.1's. Underhood 4 connector style. Does not have a turbo code, but controls both electronic transmissions (4T60-E) and manuals. There are factory codes for either application, available for 3.4 DOHC's or 3.1's. It will need even more work to turbo then the 1227727 code. Again, no SFI available.
16196401:
Only available in 94-95 W Bodies with the 3.4 DOHC. The code is fairly well hacked, native it will only do 4T60-E transmission, but has code provisions to support a manual transmission. It is SFI as well. It uses a MAF, so it will take well to low amounts of boost. It is more tuning friendly then you may suspect. But it is OBD 1.5.Last edited by Fierobsessed; 03-07-2007, 07:49 AM.

L67 ECU
Have yea a P/N for the L67 ECU?
OBD-1.5..........sounds like a learning experience. You say it's been fairly well hacked?Last edited by Dennis Cronin; 03-07-2007, 01:46 PM.
