  • Transmission Swap

I know that there are a couple of you running around with manual LQ1's. As grandprixgtp_91 knows, I like to drive my 94 GTP fast and I heard that the 4T-60E is not the transmission for this. Who has done what, what did you use, where did you get it, how much did it cost, and do you have any suggestions. Keep in mind, I am a college student on a college budget. Thanks guys!

if this is your commuter, take my advice, leave it be, and save that money for beer.

other wise, it'd probally be easier to find another LQ1 grand prix with a standard, instead of going through the hastle of a swap.

I havent done it, but i have done a little bit of reading on it. From what i understand you basically need a lumina 5speed donor car. I agree with RebelGT, if this is your daily driver and you are on a college budget, just keep it stock. I am a college student too with a 3.4dohc rebuild in the planning stage and it sucks on a college bugdet. Just stick with the auto for now, or buy a lumina.
