  • prelube engine

I am finally going to start the engine after its rebuild took me a year.

    Should I prelube the engine?

Well I put assembly lube on everything, but I was wondering if I could get oil into the galley and bearings before I crank it over.

I thought maybe spin the oil pump but I don't want to remove the head.

I thought just tap into the oil pressure sending unit and pump into there.

Or should I just start the baby up?

    RE: prelube engine

If you put a good quality prelube on all moving parts you will be just fine. It only has to provide protection of a few seconds until your engine pumps up.
