3.4 gtp bogs severely on acceleration

96 gtp w/3.4 dohc. when accelerating from a stop, car will bog down severely. can keep increasing throttle and it will eventually catch up. can sometimes let up on pedal, press back down, and it will accelerate. have replaced catalytic conv and fuel filter and used fi cleaner. air filter is k&n and clean. no service engine lite is on. fuel pump pressure is 45 psi. suggestions are welcomed.

How long has it been since you checked the cam timing? I always bring up the timing first in performance related issues as its always possible, especially with an old belt. It could also be a TPS sensor that has a dead spot, or a coilpack or 2 starting to go bad.

Do a real thorough check of any vac lines or electric connections first. Dont just open the hood and glance at it from the top. Get in on or under the sucker and root around. Wiggle and wobble those connections. Be suprised what you can fix with a really good once or twice over. Yeah that TPS bastard could possibly be the cause.
