problem started with fuel pump. replaced fuel pump car run fine for a few days then hard to start problem begain but car would start and run fine seem to not hold any fuel pressure at test port so i figured bad pump for some reason or another not hlding pressure bad check valve from what have been told. so i decided to install another pump. the day that i dicided to do this thats when i notice a new problem. started car still hard start then low idle then reved up too about 1500 then come back down to 800rpm put car in drive pulled off notice had no power let car sit a few mins then took off notice car was surging like not getting enough fuel but once you mildly give it more throttle it would pick up. drove for about and hour then come home .still had surging problem now car barely runs when giving gas engine want to bog down act like not firing on all 6 check that firing is good. what would cause this ? vac leak,timing also i notice that when giving it more gas at the throttle lever that there is some back fire through the air intake iam starting to think that its a vac leak at the intake manifold . car ran fine the night before even blew the doors off a rice burnner all this begain the next morning going to get a new fuel pump. please someone give me some help so that i dont have to put this car in the shop. iam a mechanic so i have some know how but this have got me stumped. thank for any help out there.
