changed head gaskets and now the coolant light comes on when im on the freeway but city driving when temp is up the light is off. I thought I burped the system by removing the two tap fittings in the intake and heater core line and filled it up until fluid came out. My question is do you constantly have to burp the system drive it then burp it again untill all the air is out of the system.

RE: How to effectivly burp coolant system.
yeah your doing it right, make sure you pump the hell out of the top line though, and tighten everything up, shut the car off, wait a min, and then do it again, you do this because some air bubbles can get trapped under the water pump fins, so shutting the engine down will let them escape. you might have to do it a couple times, and a good way to get air out is after a hot run crack open the bleeders.

oh and the coolant light is for low coolant right? so you might need a new sensor, if you put in some stop leak it sometimes coats the sensor and it makes it kick on the light.

Same thing happened to me. It was just air in the system. It took a few tries to bleed out the air. I just filled everything up, the bleed out the air. Topped up the tank, drove it a couple times. Bleed it a few more times and everything was good.
