  • piston ring install info

FYI the ring set I got is from Sealed power; part E-548K 2M-4649.

I actually am putting this motor together myself (with alittle advice from some old-timers). I found that it is easier to not use snap-ring pliers and just use the hand method ie. book version vs. old-timer version.

    price $180.

next I will drop pistons in block, guess I will oil up the pistons first to facilitate entry into cylinder. Yes I have ring compressor.

Make sure to just lightly oil the cylinder wall and lightly oil the piston. DON'T DUNK IT. The machinist that I use has said that even the light amout oil is almost too much that it could have a negative effect on ring seating.
