  • Rear exhaust manifold gasket replacement

Well guys I did my head gaskets a few weeks ago on my dohc, and for the most part everything went well, but without even thinking, I ended up reusing the old exhaust manifold gaskets ON THE BACK SIDE! Well, now I have a real loud exhaust tick. I'm trying to figure out if I can do it up on jackstands from underneath, or should I pull the cam cover. It looks like I might have enough room if I pull the downpipe from the back of the manifold. What do you guys think? Believe me, I know I'm a dumbass lol...

If you pull the dog-bone engine mount, the one that goes from the head to the radiator support and rock the engine forward with a come-along you can gain quite a bit of room to get at the rear of the engine.....
    Good luck!!!

You could also drop the rear of the sub-frame down a couple inches as well, but don't go any farther than that or you will have fun hooking the slip joint for the steering back up.

Those are good ideas. As long as it saves me from pulling the cam carrier I can dig it. Lol I dunno about dropping my subframe cause my underbody is a bit rough. Ill see what I can do and keep yall updated
