any thoughts on seafoaming my 1992 lumina z34? Ive seafoamed two cars ive owned before and it seemed to help them out quite a bit.

Any thoughts on using this stuff on the 3.4 DOHC?

    Thanks

Ive heard a few people use it and report that they like the results... Same with GM top engine cleaner.. don't think it will hurt anything

SeaFoam is the only thing besides oil and Lucas that I will dump in a crank case. I would say just be sure to do it right before an oil change, but I've heard from people on the Ranger Station that said they've left it in longer than that. I don't care to press my luck like that though.

I've never used Seafoam, however I have used Lucas products and I really like them alot. Their Fuel System Cleaner works really well as does their Oil Stabilizer.

A small amount of seafoam in the gas on a regular basis is great to prevent dirty injectors and is an upper cylinder lubricant which greatly helps counter act the 'dry' nature of ethanol put in gas now-a-days.

I wonder, does anyone know the effect on octane value seafoam has on the gas?

It's supposed to be 100% petroleum based, but then again so is diesel so I've no idea on its effect on octane.

The question is more of an intellectual curiostiy then anything else. I'm sure the amount used is so medial, it would have a bare fraction of influence on octane.

Yeah, to the octane of the entire tank, it would be like adding half a bottle of heat, so probably nothing even measurable.

i've sucked a few things through the brake lines purposely, mostly fuel inector cleaner, seafoam, washer fluid(methanol is a good solvent), and even a small amount of ATF(not entirely on purpose), they all seemed to do the same thing, smokeshow.

i would be VERY hesitant to run MMO through it though... if it has any type of zinc in it(and i believe it does), it damages either the O2 or the cat(or both), which is why you don't want an engine to burn oil for the same reason.

i have just givin up on seafoam im to incompetent lol
first time i spilled it on the hot engine (smoke show in an unintended location)
second time the car died after sucking up a 10th of a can and then spit it right back up the vac line into my face

                        so seafoam hates me lolol
