  • A/C Pressure Sensor

    Hey Guy's

I'm a newb here so sorry mods if this is in the wrong spot. Anyone know how to delete/bypass/shutoff the A/C pressure sensor? It's sending codes and I have removed my entire A/C system. I'm sick of the CEL light.

what year, make and model? is the switch still plugged in or is it gone as well? if its removed try plugging the switch in and let it dangle. if its plugged in it will complete the circut. Did you pull codes for the CEL? wasnt aware that the AC pressure switch causes a CEL (i may just have learned something)

It's a 95 GTP. Yeah I've tried leaving the sensor attached and taking it off. Both give A/C pressure errors and give me an intermitent CEL. This car's been a pain I might just sell it. I can't get the 3.4 to run right. Things keep breaking.

Might try jumpering the two wires that the switch uses so that the computer sees "enough pressure" in the AC system. I didn't know it would set a CEL either..

This should help you diagnose the problem.....

Thanks for the manual. So any ideas how to get it into an acceptable range by either a wire, resistor, etc??

By the way were can you get that shop manual??

Any one know how to do the same for the low oil sensor in the oil pan?

Have you had the chance to measure the voltage on the ground side of the sender going back to the ECM to see if the voltage is high or low?..If you've removed the a/c I'm (assuming) that the voltage would be below/or less than 1 volt which is causing the code, or is the cicuit left open so there is no reference signal at all going back to the ECM?......My manuals were included with the purchase of the car when I purchased the new from the GM dealer. I don't know personally that I would want to bypass the low oil level sensor. It is a safety feature.

Yeah the A/C is removed. I've tried leaving the sensor plugged in and also tried it unplugged. I also tried jumping but chances are it was 5 volts and that's over so I get the error. I must need to shove a resistor in there.

The reason for the oil sensor is I put new engine/tranny in and didn't notice until it was in that the oil pan didn't have the mount for the sensor.

On another note I have another issue (no end of issues with this car lol)...
right now and only in drive or reverse if I floor it and take my foot off the gas it stalls. I've replaced IAC, cleaned throttle body, replaced throttle position sensor and am running out of ideas. I don't hear any vacuum leaks. The stall will also happen if I shift from reverse to drive. The car's not throwing any relevent codes either. Any help would be awesome.
