Question : oil leak

hello everyonei have a 93 lumina z 34 i have a oil leak on the back side and i have put a new head gasket and plug o rings in it but still leaking i think not sure oil is coming up backside as smoke 10 seconds after i start it as every one knows not muck room can any one tell me wtf? ty l88ter

Have your driven it around a while before looking for smoke? I ask because the oil that ran down will need time to burn off unless you sprayed everything down with brake clean while it was apart. Every time I start an engine after pulling an intake or head or anything like that off, it always smokes/steams for a bit, even if I cleaned stuff off (grease from handling parts is burning off at that point). Drive it around for about 20 minutes or so, come home and check it again if you haven't done so yet.
