  • Spun a rod... how to remove crank for machining?

I spun the #1 rod bearing and upon reassembling it with fresh bearings and checking the clearance, got a .076mm which is a good bit past the limit of .062mm. I checked another one and got a .040mm. I obviously need to get the crank machined and have a couple questions.

    1. How do I deal with the timing chain that connects to the main timing pulley? Is it a balanced shaft that needs to be realigned with the crank, or can it just be reinstalled anywhere?

    2. Should I have all the journals machined, or just the spun one?

    Thanks,
    Dave D

Decided to get a reman crank w/new bearings instead of machining this one. Question remains, is there anything to know about the chain that connects to the timing gear?
