I'm replacing the Bosch Oxygen sensor on my DOHC with an ACDelco in the hope that it eliminates some drivability problems. I'm accepting suggestions on how to get it in there. Who's done it, how'd you do it?

Take off your plenum. Get an O2 sensor socket. And have at it!

I did it without taking off the plenum, but the O2 sensor socket was an absolute necessity. Instead, I detached the EGR valve from the plenum and moved it down out of the way. This worked great except it broke the tube. Fortunately I had a spare in my garage! But yes, it can be done without removing the plenum. Probably took me twice as long when you factor in replacing the EGR tube, but I think it was cracked already.
As for the O2 sensor, if you've got drivability problems and a Bosch O2 sensor, you can solve most of them by replacing it with an AC Delco. They cost at least twice as much, but are worth every penny.Last edited by crazyd; 07-31-2007, 11:41 AM.
