  • Crank Shaft Pulley

I'm going to finally install my FFP underdrive Pulley. I tried to get the bolt off once when I changed out the alternator and couldn't budge the bolt with a snipe. Can anyone tell me if the bolt is reverse threaded???

Are you referring to the damper bolt into the crank? When I was taking my engine apart that damn bolt was so tight I twisted the flats off with a six-point socket. The engine was out of the car so I loaded in the pickup and took it to my welder. We found a nut with an inside diameter that just fit over the bolt head and he welded it in place. Between the weld heat and the larger nut it came right out.

An impact would be the way to go if you have access to one. I got mine of by wedging a pry bar through one of the openings and using a HUGE breaker bar.
