  • Fuel Rail / Injector interchangeability

    I have a line on some '94 injectors and the fuel rail....... In case I need to swap mine out, will the rail fit a 93GTP? Or are at least the injectors interchangeable??? I need to know ASAP, so if someone could look those up that would be great. Thanks!!

    Okay now, that's enough of that.

    hmm... gmparts direct says they're different injectors... 17104256 and 17090849... different flow rates? any idea?

      1993 = MFI
      1994 = SFI

      1994/95 is the first generation SFI.

      Yes slightly different flow rates I would believe.

        Okay, new question: what new(er) injector is compatible with my 93? I'd like to get something from a 94-98 in the local junkyard if possible. I've heard that the 94GTP's injectors were also quiet, which is an added bonus. Anyone here know what will work?

          The fuel rails are different, I'm not sure if they are interchangeable. No idea if the injectors are the same, though a lot of the quietness comes from the fact that only 1 is firing at any time, not all 6 at once.

            I just had two sets of injectors cleaned and flow tested at Cruzin Performance. One set came from a '95 Lumina Z34 (Model #17090844). One came from a '92 Lumina Z34 (Model # 17103509). By model #, I mean the number that is printed on the injectors. Cruzin Performance gave me a printout of flow specs before and after they rebuilt these things. From the data, they appear identical. The guy there told me that they were interchangable too.
            By the way, I really recommend Cruzin Performance. They reconditioned and flow tested my injectors for $11 each. Their website is www.cruzinperfomance.com
