While tearing down my 3.4 Litre for intake gaskets and timing belt replacement,
I can see that the lower thermostat (T/S) bolt is near impossible to remove. This is due to a rigid coolant line support strap also being held by the same lower bolt.
I am changing the T/S with the best one AutoZone had (bought a while ago) while I have the engine apart now.
But looking toward the future, is there any modification to that strap/coolant line that I can do now to make it easier to replace the T/S the next time?
I'm thinking of grinding off that strap and fabbing up a single hole wrap-around strap that would attach to the same bolt that would be removeable.
Anybody got a better idea?
