  • timing idea

if any1 gets their engine out of their car or a new timing cover to install. i was thinking about drilling a small hole in it so some1 could acess and turn that screw in the back of that tensioner arm without having to completely remove it and maybe streamline the process a little.

    opinions?

I don't understand what you are trying to do faster.

Even if you mess with the tensioner, you're gonna have to mess with the cam cog bolts too. Otherwise how are you gonna free the cogs?

AND THEN when you figure that out, you're gonna have to have to move the pulley to tension the belt.

AND THEN....lol, nah I just don't see it.

i think it would make things a tiny bit quicker b/c you wouldn't have to completely remove the tensioner assy to preload the tensioner arm.

maybe it will not help much in retiming per sea but if you had to replace that pulley it may help some. most of the ones i have seen the pulley always goes bad and the tensioner is always still good.

either way, in retrospect i don't see it being very worthwhile either. appreciate the input.
