    I am hoping to fit a 3.4L DOHC into a 67' Volvo 122s.
Does anyone have engine dimensions? it is going to be a tight fit!

    thanks

The lq1 is a vary large engine with vary tall heads. if i still head my spare engine I would measure it up for you.

    96 Z34 3.4 SC DOHC Getrag, 284 5sd manual transmission, stage 3spec clutch, 97 engine, 97 pcm, S3 intercooler 1 of 1 Roots SC LQ1 in the world 8.5 psi.

My '95 engine on the stand measures roughly:

27" from crank pully to throttle body (remember, 95, integrated TB)
27" from bottom of oil pan to the top of the intake
26" from front of front exhaust manifold to rear of rear manifold

Remember though, these are rough measurements, in no way are they exact. Good luck with your project and let us know what you decide to do

PS, no you can't have my spare engine :P

A little OFF TOPIC I suppose but an LX9 3500 would give you more power and be a nicer swap. And it's alot smaller.

www.car-parts.com will net you engines in your area.

In any event G/L with your project.

Thanks for the info. I need some additional info as long as you have your tape measure out. O/A length- bellhousing to mass flowmeter inlet; O/A width at oil pan; O/A width header to header.

          thanks

I will be going out to the garage tomorrow, so I will get them then. One problem though, it's a bare engine on a stand and it's not set up for, nor does it have a MAF sensor on it. The width from front to back was widest at the exhaust manifolds, so that measurement was from outside to outside of them.

Thanks, as long as you are in a helping mood, I will ask a few cart before the horse questions: I assume the 3.4 is adaptable to a RWD setup?; does anyone make a front motor mount adapter?; what bellhousing and trans will work with it at 350 - 400HP?

thanks again, if this is feasible, and will fit, I'm sure to have more questions.
