  • 94-96 Wiring Swap-obd1.5--obdii

I am currently doing my swap on my 94 and need some help from the guys that have done this swap. Shane(redzmonte) has helped me out a ton, but since he has a 95 the wiring is a little different. I have the Gm book with all the wires from teh C100 connector, but there are a few that are different from 94-95-96. Please help me if you can. Also on my 94 I have a two wire ALT, black and brown, on the 95-96 its a one wire , red. Anyone know why this was changed and what I need to do to make it work. Both ALT's are the same.

    Here is what I have
    I will post soon

As you can see on the 94 does not have
      -B2,B3, D2,E1, F1, G1, H1, H2, H5, J1,L2,L3.

I think that H5 from 94 has to be switch to B2 on the 96. From the 96 E1 needs to be switched to A3.

I dont know what to do with the others? Any one have any ideas.

It looks like alot of them that are not active from the 96 are blank on the 94, such as,
        b2,d2,e1,f1,h1,h2,j1

-I am wondering what G1 from the 94 goes to on the 96
-You need to add 12v constant to L1 for the 96
-You need to switch E1-A3 for the 96
        - Is L2 on the 96 the same as the B3 on the 94?

The B2 on the 96 harness is INCORRECT. I need to do some research and find out what pin the cruise control wire is.

ONe wire that I need is the 96 cruise control wire, color and position on the C100. Also I looked up the ALT wireing and I have a brown and bown and white on my 94. On the 96 its a red wire and in the book it says that the 94 and 96 have 3 wires, brown, red, brown and white, so WTH

Try this excel spreadsheet for a 95 to 96 or 97 swap (both are included). I've posted it before. I think it's accurate, but I haven't personally swapped using it.

WEll I just got done with installing the wiring harness. It was overall not to bad, but some parts were a little difficult. Now comes the questions

Will the old cruise control still work with the new computer becasue its on a different wiring harness?

Do I need to worrie about the Theft system for the OBD II? I know there are a few wires that are not inside my car, casue its a 94 that the 96 has, just need to know if its necessary, if so what do I have to do/get?

I still have to install the starter motor and the wires for that along with the front knock sensor. I am also going to pick the newer style tranny switch so that it will plug right in.

Is there anyway to get around the VATS system? I know the 94 did not come with it, so I was just wondering what would probably happen if the 96 has it and the 94 does not?
