Ok, I think I might finally be done adding modifications to the site... for now. 
Recent addtitions include the following:
Photo Gallery The photo gallery from the old site is back up. I was trying to integrate it, but have given up for right now. We really wouldn't gain much from an integrated gallery anyway. With the Garage mod, people basically have their own photo gallery anyway, so this one will be used strictly for site images.
RSS Feeds This really won't apply to many people. Basically, if you have an RSS reader, you can get up-to-the-minute updates on new posts to the forum. Other sites can now also display our posts as "news".
Download Area This is mainly going to be used to share site-specific files across the community. I know the biggest use of this will be for BIN files. But other files can be added as well. No copyrighted material please.
Save Thread or Post as text file Uhh.. not sure about this one.
I think if anything, it will just help out if we decide to create articles out of threads. It takes all of the formatting out of the post and just makes it a plain text file.
Print Thread Similar to above, but possibly more useful. This will allow people to print out a thread, complete with pictures. People could print out information from a post for use in the garage when performing maintenance, etc... Again, not sure just how much use this will get, but you never know.
I've also been working on getting the articles back up as well. All of the transmission articles are back up. I'm going to work on the Pushrod area next. Once we get all the articles, we will have to go back and do some clean up to the content. In the transfer from the old db to the new, some new characters are getting inserted, so we have to go back and manually delete them. So if you are looking through an article and see something wierd, just ignore it. It will be fixed eventually.
I've also added a couple links in the menu. There is now seperate searches for the forum and articles (since the functions are integrated in the software
). The photo gallery and downloads area are also available from the main menu as well.
Oh, and in case people didn't read the other thread, there is a new image attachment feature. Look for UploadPic under the BBCode buttons above the posting window to attach an image to a post. I'm going to see if I can add the feature to the quick reply, but please don't expect too many miracles!!

Comment
