Images and Signatures

Well guys and gals, it is looking like with the new setup (although it might have happened on the old setup as well, just not as often), some of the images in the signatures are causing the posts to get too wide. I plan on working on the site so that it will resize pictures that are too large automatically and make the picture linkable to the full size version, but I don't know it it'll work with the signatures or not. But in all honesty, it shouldn't matter. I know some of you really like to show off your car in every post, but please shrink the pictures down some. I haven't decided on a max size I am going to allow (pretty sure I have the ability, or will have the ability, to limit that as well), but it will be a size most likely not to exceed 175x400 pixels. So if you currently have a pic in your sig, please resize to the stated size or wait until it no longer shows up, in which case I will just refer you to this post...

are there problems with attachments now? i keep getting a message about my attachments being too big. last one i tried to upload was only 191kb

the size was 600x450 as i reduced it from the 640x480 i used to use on the old layout. is this temporary or permanent?

I changed the quote since we were over what it was set for. It should work now up to 256k file size.

message is gone and they show up in the preview but they do not show up when i submit them.

I have removed the attachment mod for now and I'm going to try to re-install it later. We may or may not loose all of the previous attachments. Hopefully it will be may not, but I'm not going to guarantee anything. I'm update this post when its back up and working.

Ok, I got a new program that looks to be working. I need to mess with the code somemore to get all the bugs worked out and remove the current attachment posting stuff. I need to keep some of it intact to that the old images will still show up, but I'm going to try to remove most of it. Or maybe just convert all of the old attachments to the new system... Ugh!! I think there is only ~64meg and around 600-800 files. Hmm... We'll see.

Once I get everything worked out, I'll make it available to everyone and post a News item about it.
