  • Technical Service Bulletins

We (well, me... and Ben wherever he gets around to starting) are starting to add Technical Service Bulletins to the site. Currently, all TSBs for the 4T60E and 3x00 are on the site. The 4T60E ones are in the new tranny section (can be seen on the main site menu) and the 3x00 ones are in the 3x00 Maintenance area. I spend extra time making them all "printer freindly", so those of you who want to print them out and put them with your repair manuals, you can do that.

Just another thing we are trying to do to make this site as versitile and complete as possible, and to continue to make it the best source for 60V6 info!

UPDATE :: 3.4DOHC ones are now up as well.

If you want guys I can get any TSB ever made on any GM vehicle. Just ask. I am not sure if they are considered public information by GM but I supose all they can really do is tell us to stop hosting it and we could take it down.

Unless of course it is public and we are allowed to host it

Excellent thing to add to the site. Just helped me with my TCC hot-engage issue!

I got all of the stuff that is currently up from AllData. But you should be able to go to the dealership and ask to see a TSB and they should give them to you.

I'm not sure where they went... I should still have them somewhere though.

                    RE: Re: Technical Service Bulletins

They are still on the server, but for some reason they aren't linked anywhere. I linked you to a couple cam related ones in your other thread. As soon as I get a chance, I'll try to get them up on the site like the 3x00 and 4T60E ones...

www.helminc.com probably, they will have the original factory 3000+ page manual/s for your vehicle.

or you could go to alldatadiy.com and get a subscription to that, its a little better in some parts, in that it is a little more organized and has hyperlinks, and gives up to date tsbs and stuff like that, its like only $25 a year

checked the TSB for intake gaskets on 1997 Lumina 3100 vin. m. Wanted to use the the redesigned gaskets. The bulletin stated that the 97 3100 vin. m still called for the old design and torqued bolts at 10ft.lbs. Anybody know if you can use the new design with new torque specs. on this motor.

i would. and to me...10/11 in/lbs is only finger tight. i'd go more like 15 ft/lbs.

The new design just puts metal tabs in the gaskets to prevent user-error of over torqing and crushing the gasket. The revised ones aren't made for the older motors. And the revised still have failed. Not sure if the ports would align on the newer gasket on the older head/intakes...

I'd go with the FelPro problem solver metal gaskets. That way you never have to worry about it again. The leaky LIM gasket is the only thing that really kills these motors. Every 3100 in the junkyard I saw had "bad engine" written on the windshield. A shame. I took the TB off one and out poured milkshake like it was vomiting...
