That's 3.11 new users per day. And that's since we started using the new software/forum. So just about 1.5 years.

The forums (all of them) have been pretty dead all day, so I got bored and did some looking...

        We currently have 1791 members.

1056 (~59%) don't list a location. Are you scared someone might hunt you down? Or maybe that someone in your area might be willing to help out when a problem arises...

        441 (~25%) don't have a single post. That's interesting...

1310 (~73%) have less than 10 posts. Also interesting, but not as intersting. I'm sure alot of people have joined to have help solving a problem and haven't had a reason to post otherwise.

1 (Ben) has over 3000 posts, 1 (me) has over 2000 posts and 7 more have over 1000 posts, for a total of 14433 posts, or close to 25% of all posts. 2 of those over 1000 don't come here anymore....

ahhh i see other have made the same observations as me about the growing membership here. i have multiple site memberships but i was here 1st and if i added the total post together on the other 2 sites i was a member of, they wouldn't equal the number of post i issue here.

i have also been impressed by the caliber of alot of the new members i see too. i recently talked to one, he was tearing down his brothers engine which was a 3.4 dohc btw and thankfully i have yet to see any threads on here concerning body kits and stereo equiptment. that among other thing make this place number 1 in my book.

well i can also attribute alot of new members aren't really new at all a good percentage of them are peeps from other forums that are technically proficient.

kind of not feasible to do but id like to see a demographic of dohc owners/3100/3400 and 2.8 owners.

Oh man, and I've been slipping on the forums lately cause im just too busy. This site is small compared to a lot of the platform sites. The platform sites get to deal with absolutely everything in the world right from the start. We have just slowly added sections like the trans area. We do have off topic though

As far as the % of our users with no location, that kinda sucks. I wonder how many people are in my area right now. I could use some test subjects down the road No post users can be deleted after a year for all I care. Look up how may never confirmed their email or logged in as the user. They used to get deleted after 7 days.

And for the post counts, some of us have been around here forever. I was 16 when I got my car, and 18 when I started getting into performance modifications. w-body.com (which is much larger than us forum wise, but I think we have them on information) was the first site I joined. Chris' 60V6 pushrod Performance site (i think it was just pushrods, god knows I didnt care about the DOHC back then) got me started:P Yahoo, blah blah blah, GMF...I had what, 5000 posts or some shit? I don't remember anymore, but that was 2000-2003. Good times, this used to be such a small group of people, though it still doesn't seem like a large group of people to me either. Our meet pictures and video (did we do a video?) will prove that.

You want to see a funny fact? sure you do. Go look at the total posts and threads of the pushrod performance section, and then the DOHC section. Now look at Maintenance? Hahahaha, irony!

Im going to sleep, I have to finish porting a head tomorrow and mail some stuff off and, a lot of other stuff.(anyone wanna see why you should always properly examine your heads before you port something? www.60degreev6.com/heads . Yeah, im awesome:P) Hey, if I make a post, I try to give you something useful. hahaha, even if I look like a fool.

Yeah, but its a customer's port job so it was his call on if he wanted to use it or not. Ill use it to get header flanges made, flow data, and possibly just use it on my motor. If I can find the other piece ill have it welded back on. Its practically worthless though for the front head.

                    I can weld that! :P
I started this thread, hoping to get some new members in, maybe it worked, maybe not. Even though most of the other forums have more members, this is the one to find the true technical info and to separate the bullshit. I have never posted bullshit here!
And just for the record...I am in the Dayton, Ohio area.
