  • Impressive! Bigger than it looks!

While looking for the "Support Us" page, (of which I have not found yet)I cruised through the stats. Anyone ever read this? I admit it was my first time. 1400+ members and over 500,000 reads! Doing the math, I figured that if 50% of the 1400 would donate 20 bucks each, that's a lot!! ($14,000) See! I can do math... The low part of it was finding out that since I am a night worker, my time on site is in the bottom 2%. Oh well, at least I am not lower, like the 5 AM'ers. :P Now..enlighten me as to where I can find this "Support Us" page. So I can do my civic, (not Honda), duty, and kick in my 20 bucks....

Yeah, its pretty crazy how big the site actually is. The memberlist is a little off though. I know there are a couple people who have multiple accounts for one reason or another. But I would still say we have well over 1000 members. And from the posts of new members, it always seems like they had been reading for awhile prior to joining.

As far as the Support the Site, here is the direct link: http://www.60degreev6.com/modules.ph...rtid=43&page=1

Not sure why it went away in the first place, but I put it back up under Miscellaneous on the Main Menu. Thanks for mentioning that it wasn't listed anywhere!!

Remember, contributions don't have to be direct. You can visit our CafePress store for a few different site items. Sure, we only get a couple bucks from each item, but its still a contribution. Amd with Christmas coming up, browse through their items and let me know if there is anything you guys see that you'd like a 60V6 logo on and I'll get it right up.

We averaged 731 visits per day last month...100 more than the previous month and the first time we broke 700. The page views are what really matter...if that sorta thing really matters at all. The only important aspect I see is that we still have active members and we still have experienced members helping out on the forums.

For donations, we appreciate it for sure, but its not required and I certainly don't know what I would do if we had everyone donate just $1 a month. I have thought about doing a recurring donation type setup with paypal, for 1 or 2 bucks a month. With enough income on the site, we could do a TON more than we are now...like get our own dedicated or semi dedicated server. That would allow more multimedia and member pages. For what we have though, I certainly can't complain.

No problem, and I don't want this to sound like a PBS moneython, but you all have done a lot of work keeping this house up. Hey, you even let me act like an ass sometimes! But, ain't nothing free. Lot of worse things I could spend money on...Beer, and uh....more beer...and gas!..To go get beer. BUT! With the info gathered here since I joined, I figure I have saved a ton. (Biggest savings was exhaust. I figure the Borlas and pipes would have been $700+) AND have a better, faster car to boot! Before 60deg, I was only interested in beer and porn, now..I have a 3rd vice! My 20 is on the way! Anyone else? Anyone?..anyone? Disclaimer: I really don't drink beer or surf porn sites.

Ok, I just tested out the recurring donation thing and it seems to work just fine. It is currently set up for $2 a month (1 gal of gas ), so its really not that big of a deal for most people I wouldn't think. Just one less time of going to McDonald's every 2 months and its covered. And as Ben stated, alittle more money means more options for the entire group. I know we had talked about allowing people to have their own Photo Gallery, utilizing the Gallery software we have installed. But we really need more space to be able to do that. And I'd love to get some of the drag racing videos from the meets back up on the site for people to view.

No, I mean how do you set up the monthly payment thing, or who do we send the money to. I don't see a link on the paypal site about donating or setting somthing like this up.

If you want to donate to the site, the link is on the support page

If you want to setup your own donation, go to your paypal account, then merchant tools. The first set of options has the subscription/recurring donation setup button there.

Is there a way for people to know that, say for instance, I am a donator? Can we have a icon or something saying I donate, underneth "location"?

The only way I know to do that is to change the title. Thats actually what I was working on a bit ago, but I really hate photoshop so making my own button is a real pain in the ass. I wanted a dark blue marble background, black outline shadow, and gold engraved looking text that said Donating Member. What I actually made was a blue marble background with a skinny yellow floating text that I couldn't center...
