  • Planned Downtime this weekend

Just wanted to announce that I plan on upgrading the site software sometime this weekend. I will most likely do it Friday night, but it may be Saturday night. Hopefully it won't take too long, but you never know with these updates nowadays. As it gets closer, and I can tie down an approximate time, I will try to let everyone know. Thanks!

This will be happening tonight. I plan on taking the site down sometime around 8pm CST. This is a fairly decent upgrade, so there are several things that I will need to test out prior to bringing the site back up, so it will be down for a few hours. Hopefully all goes well and it won't take that long, but you never know.

At least running an upgrade doesn't require editing HTML code

Ok, the site is back up. I did a little testing to make sure stuff worked, and it all seemed ok, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is. If you run into ANY issues, please let me know either in this thread or via PM so I can look into it and get it fixed ASAP. Thanks!

I miss the old quick edit feature we had before this upgrade. You know, where it didn't load a whole new screen, it just tossed a box over your post and let you edit the text in it. It was nice.

I guess I haven't editted a post since the upgrade, so I can't comment. I'll look into it.

EDIT: When I go to edit a post (this one, right now), it doesn't load up a new page, but just changes the post to an editor box. I am testing it using FF4.

EDIT #2: Works the same way in IE7.

Very strange... I just tried editing my post above yours and it did the old way with out loading a page, yet when i did it earlier this morning, I got a whole new page.

Its because you double clicked on it. I just remembered there is that option for replying, and tested it out for editing, and it works the same way.

Odd, I never double click on the net... I wonder if my mouse batteries are getting low. The life expectancy of them was something like a month or so and I got this wireless keyboard and mouse months ago and I'm still on the original batteries, lol. I have been checking the battery status on them lately and it's always been reporting back as good.

Edit: on a funny note, in the program for them it says "If you need help changing your batteries, click the Help button." Um, most people anymore don't know how to get around in windows without a mouse, lol.

Putting quotation marks in garage comments results in " being displayed in the comment in place of the " marks (it's not italicized though).

On a note related with the edit deal, I forgot what area it was in, but I know for a fact I only single clicked edit and got the new screen. Oh well, maybe it's FF.
