Ok, I know there are some people out there that really just don't like the chatbox on the forum homepage. Well, I decided to try to do some coding to allow you to turn it on and off, and that's when I figured out the option was already built in! Anyway, here is how you do it...
In the upper right corner of the screen, click on Settings. Once you get to your User control panel, on the left hand side, look for General Settings (found under the heading My Account). The very first option you should see is Show the Chatbox. Select your preference. When you are done, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click on Save Changes. Then resume your normal site browsing.
Hopefully not everyone will click to not show it, as there are some pretty decent conversations that go on in there sometimes.
