Ok, so up until the last few days, site donations had been down to nearly nothing. To those who donated recently, we really appreciate it! Anyway, about 3 weeks ago, after thinking it over long and hard, I finally added some advertising to the via in the form of Google ads. But, to keep with the tradition of the site, only non-registered visitors see the ads. But, it is still helping generate a small amount of money to help pay server costs. So what does this have to do with the search feature I mentioned?? The code I used for the ads also included code for a site-dedicated Google search. Of course, this was only seen by non-registered users. Until now...
I have added the code to the search dropdown in the navigation bar above. I think this search is actually better than the other searches on the site because it searches the ENTIRE site. So when you go to look for something, results come up from both the forum and the site content. Since it is powered by Google (and since its part of the ad package), there are ads located next to the search results. So, 60V6 now technically does have ads, but its really not annoying like most ads. Oh, and there are times that the ads have NOTHING to do with cars, but that is sometimes just the nature of Google.
Anyway, check out the new search feature and let me know what you think. We don't get any money unless you click on a link, so this isn't a ploy to make money. If the search wasn't a good resource, then I wouldn't have even mentioned it.
