Has anyone noticed that the text box where you type posts doesn't quite work right in FF3? You can't see the blinking icon for where you are going to type, nor can you edit any text you have already typed... makes it impossible to edit posts or make a mistake and try to go back to it!

It's in RC1, I highly doubt a bug like that could make it into an RC. It's set for release soon.

I can't find anything on vbulletin.com or vbulletin.org on any firefox3 issues. Considering the issues you are having have been untouched from a standard vbulletin issue, I'd say its something wrong on your end.

Install Firefox 3 beta1 and give it a shot yourself, happens at work and here as well, with Beta 4, 5, and RC1.

Ah. well I can edit but I can't see the cursor. it was there...then went away. Beats me. Quick edit worked fine but clicking "post reply" is doing this. Its overall slow as hell though so uninstall it gets.

It also doesn't happen on other VB forums, only this one.

Have either of you tried it on another vbulletin-powered forum to see if you get the same results? I'd be interested in that...

EDIT: I guess that's my answer. Umm... take a look in your User CP > Edit Options > Misc Options (all the way at the bottom). What is your message editor interface set to? Try changing it to a different type and see if it changes anything.

What is the version for the other vB forums you've tried?

Mine was set to the WYSIWYG editor by default, and that is apparently what is having the issue. I set it back to Advanced and it works fine now.

The other VB forum version is 3.6.8

Yeah, I've run into issues with the WYSIWYG editor before. Its an AJAX issue. Hmm... just like the CR Calulator problem I am trying to solve for FireFox users. You'd think FF wouldn't have any issues with AJAX, but apparently it does.
