  • EGR Adapter

With very minimal modifications, the digital EGR found on the 90-96(ish) V6's can bolt on to the 2000+ 3400 plenum with absolutely no adapter. First I bought the new gasket for the 3400, and quickly noticed the distance from the bolt to the hole on center is exactly the same as the thicker side of the 91 EGR plate.

Then I realized that there was plenty of space for the stock EGR to sit in there, and that if you cut the threaded manifold end off the 3.1 EGR plate, and cut the EGR end off the 3400 tube that they make a long enough pipe to connect together.

Then I drilled a new hole in the EGR plate to mate up onto the 3400 plenum:

Then I bolted on the EGR through the plate to the plenum using new gaskets. I used muffler cement to bond the 2 pipes together, and used muffler tape over top of it to help seal it all together, then put both heat shield's on the tube:

And thats it! No leaks at all, it seals perfectly all the way around the EGR plate to the plenum all with no adapters and it looks totally stock. Total cost of about $5 for muffler cement & muffler tape.
