I have been using fleetguard filters now for a few years and found that the multi-layer synthetic filter is the best bang for the buck. And it fits most of the V-6's that GM has made.

I will have to look for a part number. I have disassembled one as well and can provide pics or vids, I can host the content as well, I run a FTP server here.

So far as oil I have tried quite a few and sent in oil analysis kits to Polaris labs many times to find the best. So far the best bang for the buck is Case IH (Ag-Industrial) 0W40 Synthetic. I buy it at 10% over cost so it is less than half the price of Mobil 1 and a superior product according to test results (More of the good addatives).
