GM released memcal updates to remove the faulty MAF sensors (they are known to crap out) and allow a simple MAP setup. Since the MAP sensor is already installed, this is a simple install. First, you need to get the Chip upgrade that converts your vehicle to MAP only. The GM dealer should be able to help you here, or if you can burn your own using the .bin files found in the download area. You will need a UV eraser to erase a stock chip, or solder a 29C256 chip in its place for easier reprogramming. You will also need a programmer. Moates.net has some nice hardware for doing this.
Put the new memcal into the computer, remove the MAF sensor, and wire in an Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor. You can find a newer air box off a newer model, or just cut a hole in your intake path for the sensor. The wires to the IAT are the same color as the MAF wires (The MAF had the IAT built into it).
