Yeah, it has worse cooling at the bottom of the cylinders but you can get away with it if you don't fill it up too much. If you could reroute all coolant away from the intake manifolds and used phenolic to seperate the intakes from the heads/block, you would reduce heat soak. Getting a real cold air intake will also cool off the intake manifolds. When its just the throttlebody though, you have to sit for a while for it to get heat soak that bad.
I don't follow thigns because the majority agree on it. I bet a lot of V8 owners think the TPS enhancer is the shit too. For a while the 3400 TB heat shield was getting a lot of attention on the N body boards. Heat soak was the issue again and people though that crossover was heating up the TB which would heat up the air. Hahaha, yeah right. Like sticking a heat shied in a grill below your brats. Think they won't get hot?
