Good idea, cause the material YOUR headers are made out of means nothing to me. Just a list of what CAN be used.

i started with my headers , and i bought a piece of test pipe to start figuring some stuff out , so i bought a 90 degree bend piece of 1 3/4 exhaust pipe, i do not want to go 1 7/8 because i tihnk it is to much. would regular exahust pipe work? i think it should. thanks

1 3/4" is too much IMO.

If you just bought a 90* bend at like an exhaust shop, I bet it is crush bent. You want mandrel bent, this you should order online(it will be cheaper than at an exhaust shop). Most(if not all) mandrel bends come in either 180* U-bends or 180* J-bends. Few companies make 90* bends. As for pipe quality, just make sure it is either 16 or 18 gauge, and you will be fine. Have them coated if they are not stainless steel, and even if they are I'd reccomend coating them.

I also attempted a mock up of mine in my head and on paper. This doesn't work. Really the way to do it is to build a guide using cheap materials(copper tube, pipe insulator), and build them off of that.

You gotta remember that Jake is planning on boosting his engine... I think 1.75" would be fine then.

yeah i am gonna run boost, not right off the bat because its very pricey, but within a year i will run boost. now also i am running my headers back into a 3" collector which will be flanged up to a 2 1/4" exhaust pipe on each. i am making it true dual exhaust with 2 cats, followed by resonators , then an x pipe , then going into 2 mufflers of an unknown brand at this time , and the outlet is gonna be a 4- 5" chrome boom tube. i dont know ow it will sound, might sound like ass but whatever. does anybody know if the 97 engines sound different than the 91- 95's? because the exhaust port is alot different on the 97. the way im going to build my headers is, im going to take the stock manifolds and bolt them on the engine , then im gonna build the headers to sorta fit around that. i need as much room in the front of the engine as possible because i need to run the drive shaft for my supercharger there.

It's not technically true duals if you have an X-pipe.

yeah i think its still considered true dual. the x pipe just help pulls out the exhaust.

The X-pipe balances the flow incase one side flows better... therefore not being TRUE duals. TRUE duals would be one pipe for each bank with NO merges.

Yup, exactly. Just don't go too big on the exhaust or the car will be a PITA to drive before it's boosted.
