I have this linked to from the main site, so hopefully we can get a very nice headers article updated soon. This is what is on the site currently.

You can use any pics from my Header build if you would like Ben.

http://www.domesticcrew.com/colin/ there should be a folder named header or headers.. has each front and rear split up into folders along with the final product.

Cool. I would like to have better pics for header example, but I am also looking for any info on gas speed calculations, types of metal for the tubing and flanges, thicknesses, collector pictures, and anything else to help someone choose or build a set of headers.

I used 16 gauge stainless steel piping, mandrel bent. My flanges were plasma cut 1-piece 3/8" mild steel. The new ones will be 3/8" 1-piece laser cut mild steel.

My headers are 3/8ths inch thick Lazer cut Mild steel, Mild Steel 16 gauge 1-5/8ths inch OD Mandrel Tubing, these went then into a set of Headers By ED 3 1-5/8ths into 1 2.5inch outlet Collector, which then for my application i used a 2.5 to 2inch Collector Reducer for each header.

My Tube lengths are 36.5inch long, within 1/4 of in inch of lenght of each other.
Length was based off Calculations i had an Engineer buddy work out based on the 3.1L engine i have and with the current camshaft specs, and the possibility of the larger cam i was wanting to run this year but didnt get a chance to do. the current cam's header forumula worked out to requiring 38inch long primaries, the cam i wanted to run wanted 35inch long primaries, so i split the difference between the two.

When the new engine is built (might not be this year) i will be doing another set of headers for the car based off its combo, these ones will be Stainless steel.

My current primaries are 30" long, the computer spit out 34" in length, and I shortened that becuz all I wanted was high end. I am using 1 5/8" tubes, that collect into a 2.25" collector. My 2 X 2.25" pipes then merge into a single 2.5", which runs back.

For the set in my Fiero, they will be 1.75" X 36" length. These will also be equal front and back, collect into dual 2.5s, which then merge into a single 3".

Aaron I do not believe that your headers are stainless steel... since you have the exact same kit as Michael (his are not SS). Comments?

First of all bowtiekid hasn't even built his...He has the pipe neccesary to build headers.

And yes, they are 304 stainless steel, and the price heavily reflects this.

I never said he built his... I said he has the same KIT as you.

Show me on the Headers By Ed website where it states they are stainless.

You can order any pipe from him in stainless or mild. I ordered the kit, and I ordered it in 304 stainless. And as far as his kit goes, you can flex it in many ways. It is basically just what he suggests for an average set of V6 headers.

I think he meant that we should stop arguing Dyk, and i wouldn't roll your eyes at him, cuz he can ban you just as easily as he can me.

But he wouldn't....He might me, so I'll be the one to shut up....
