3500 short block with 3400 top end.....why would even consider that?! might give you just a tad more compression, but nothing noticible.

I must not have been clear. 3500 lower did not mean 'bottom end' It meant 'lower intake manifold'

Thanks for the replies though. I'm assuming though that the 3500 UIM flows better than the 3400's though?

Don't expect it to run correctly with that 3bar map once you are boosted. The current version of PT has the option for map scaling to use different size map's, but there is an issue right now with changing map's on boosted cars that were NA from the factory. Specifically with the way they measure barometric pressure. Once you hit boost it will reset the baro to whatever boost you hit and leave it there until you turn off the car so it will mess up your idle. GTP's that come boosted from the factory have something in the program that keeps it from doing this. They haven't fixed it for NA cars yet.

Also once you install all this expect your "perfect tune" to go down the drain. I find it hard to believe it's that good... there is always room to improve, especially on a hybrid engine. That and like you said there aren't as many of us tuning 3400's and we haven't been doing it as long. We all have a lot to learn yet. Once you boost it you are going to need bigger injectors period! And your volumetric efficiency is going to totally change too. Add a cam and it changes things even more. The first thing I learned is that changing that much on the engine totally changes how it runs and it doesn't always react like you expect to tuning changes. It is a very long tedious process. Not trying to bring you down with all this... just giving you a heads-up.

as for manifolds i am using the stock 3400 manifolds.. and am about to have the cross over made for my turbo..
no issues with the fuel rail.. my user name on dhp is rickykline.. i dont post much at all i spend most my time working on the car and there arent alot of 3400 enthuasist there all 3800 guys lol..

I agree with everyone else, you need to ditch those 3400 manifolds. They will be restrictive even for a turbo setup. Use the 3500 mani's if you must, or better yet make some custom turbo manifolds.
