i use the black and red wires only

of course my connector is turned counter clockwise so the a would be on the left and red goes on the right.

this is what i was told to do from the mastach website

Just for shits and grins... have you tried swapping the black and red wires?

I haven't messed with datalogging in forever, but I know Freescan can be touchy sometimes. I know Ben mentioned it somewhere, but the scan/capture rate needs to be at a certain value, and you have to "kick-start" the program to get it to start datalogging.

ya you have to "Force Data" lots i have to do it up to 10 times
youll notice that its working properly when you see
Bytes Sent and Bytes Recieved both moving
the P4 ecms require you(logging software) to "Ask" for data before the ecm sends it
so if you dont see the "Bytes Sent" moving, then your not getting and data

you can fiddle around Milisecond Delay maybe make the number higher by 50 ms ata time
im sure the lower you go the more prone its going to be to errors as there will be less time for the software and ecm to communicate

im guessing your running the 7730 ecm
can you do us a favour and look at the sticker on your ecm case and tell us what the numbers are
same with the eprom inside, there is a sticker ontop the blue rectangle thing, thats your eprom

im not sure what a 93 cav uses, but it will help us to know forsure what your running

im currently trying to find other software that you can try to use

ecm case says bfuz not sure if you want the numbers but i am sure thats all you'll need

                  eprom says the same thing

                  but 3200 under the bfuz

most of the time i'd hit force data and it woudl read only temp and it would say 32 degrees and everytime i hit force data it would go up 32 degrees so at one point my temp was 1000+ lol right

might be a bit old, but its sapposed to work with 730 and 727 ecus
                    worth a shot

                    dos program

                    ecu file

                    the readme (read it)

                    main directory of files

                    Main page

if you cant get this program to run in xp then youll need an xp boot disk to run it in dos mode

check out bootdisk.com, get the xp boot disk for dos

its confusing since i haven't messed with a dos program in maybe a few years when i did c++ in h/s.

now do i have to load the ecu file cause idk how to and the readme isn't helping much

aslo it says it only runs off com1 or com2 ports my usb are only com 5 and 6 so the program is saying the cable cant be found

                        rough lol

can you manipulate whatever is using com5 or 6 make it use like com 7 and then have whatever is using com 1, make that use the com 5 or 6 you changed to free up com 1, then make your usb adapter use com 1 ?

                        jsut swap coms around?

edit freescan uses com1 only so if you having com probs then thats most likely what your problem is (freescan not seeing anything becuase its looking at com1 when usb is at com x)

well i looked in the device manager and it doesn't say whats useing com 1

                          or i would of

                          it just says communications port(com1)

when i had it plugged in com5, i could choose com5 from the drop down box in freescan hmm

if its as simple as not being at com1 i am gonna go punch my car lol
